Lone Wolf Terror – How Can We Protect Ourselves?

by Diane Dimond on September 24, 2016

Here we go again. We’ve endured more terror attacks on American soil perpetrated by radicalized young Muslim men. Their faith is not mentioned here to condemn the entire Muslim religion but it is a common denominator that should not be left unspoken for fear of finger wagging from the stewards of political correctness. Historic Lessons to Guide Our Immigration Debate

by Diane Dimond on July 4, 2016

America's Paralyzing Political Divide

America’s Paralyzing Political Divide

The political divide in this country has completely paralyzed us. Generally speaking, half of us think one way, the other half believes just the opposite. The never-ending conflicts — on a whole array of legal issues – continues with no end in sight.

Not even the U.S. Supreme Court could decide what this nation should do to get a grip on our immigration problems. The high court recently deadlocked 4-to-4 on the issue of whether President Obama’s executive order on immigration, which protected millions of undocumented people from being deported, is constitutional. Minus the late conservative Justice, Antonin Scalia, the best the high court could do was a tie, split just like the rest of us. [click to continue…]

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah - Real Solutions, Please

Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah – Real Solutions, Please

Oh, the empty rhetoric that spewed from politicians in the aftermath of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history!

Stop all foreign Muslims from coming to the United States / Stop people on the no-fly list from buying guns / Enforce tougher background checks for gun buyers/ Restore the ban on assault rifles.

Really? Not one of those suggestions would have stopped what happened in Orlando, Florida. [click to continue…]

Terrorists Need Another “Shock and Awe”

Brussels terror aftermath

The Aftermath of the Brussels Attack

Another week, another deadly terrorist attack, this time in Brussels. The aftershocks heightened security across Europe and here in the US.

Understanding why Muslim extremists continue to kill innocents and what they are likely planning for the future can best predicted by someone who used to live, eat and pray among them.

Meet Emad Salem, a devout Muslim who, after serving as a Major in the Egyptian military, became a US citizen 31 years ago. But he became more than that. He became one of the FBI’s most valuable undercover assets in the War on Terror, beginning in the early 90’s. [click to continue…]

Earth to Donald Trump:  Words Matter

by Diane Dimond on December 7, 2015

Bluster Works in Business – But in the White House?

Would you do business with someone who routinely exaggerated his or her ability? Someone who, in the course of trying to sell you something, said things that were cocky, vague or just not true?

Clearly, it would be foolish to buy anything from a person like that. Lying about the goods and services to be delivered in the course of doing business is a crime. Its fraud at worst, false advertising at best.

Keep this in mind as you listen to Donald Trump on his I’m-bigger-smarter-stronger-more energetic-richer-than everyone-else campaign for the White House. Too bad he’s selling himself instead of, say, one of his skyscraper apartments because if his promises were all about a real estate deal one might have legal recourse. [click to continue…]

Defeating the Evildoers On All Fronts

Banded Together The World CAN Stop It

Banded Together The World CAN Stop It

My friend Nancy and I were talking the other day about the terrorist attacks in Paris. Nancy, you should know, is retired law enforcement and one of the most interesting thinkers I know. She has a way of cutting through all the bull to get right to the heart of an issue.

About the Muslim terrorists who commit atrocities in the name of Islam Nancy said, “They only speak and understand one language – violence.” We agreed that we should leave the actual war planning to the experts. Air strikes versus boots-on-the-ground? We defer to the Pentagon on that.

But then Nancy added, “If we don’t step up our response we’ll never stop this infestation.” [click to continue…]

Israel Speaks About Iran But Are We Listening?

by Diane Dimond on March 9, 2015

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu

Okay, so let me get this straight. We need to add the conflict in the Middle East to the list of things our politicians cannot agree upon. Is that right?

Our schismatic U.S. Congress – the body that makes the laws we are all bound to live by – can’t agree on what to do about immigration, long overdue tax reform, environmental issues, economic policies, budgetary matters and now they’re also divided on how to treat Israel — our strongest ally in the never ending war of ideologies in the Middle East? Really? [click to continue…]

The Takeaway From the Terror in France

by Diane Dimond on January 19, 2015

Outside the Offices of Charlie Hebdo

Outside the Offices of Charlie Hebdo – 1/7/2015

Who among us was not horrified at the spasm of deadly terrorism that has swept through Paris? Religious extremists — using Islam as justification – caused the deaths of 17 people in three separate instances and plunged the French nation into a state of fright.

There are so many layers to this tragedy. A stark reminder that anti-Semitic hatreds still exists following the coldblooded murders of four Jewish customers at a kosher grocery store. An entire religion tainted in the minds of some. And a brazen display of evil as terrorists methodically gunned down twelve staffers at the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in broad daylight. Contempt of Congress – And They Earned It

Loggerheads - And All Americans Lose

Loggerheads – And All Americans Lose

Labor Day is in the rear view mirror and the summer season has been officially declared as over, even though the calendar says autumn is still weeks away. With vacations behind us and the kids back in school this is the time we traditionally return full attention to our work.

That’s what we regular citizens do anyway. Then, there are the members of the U.S. Congress.

Now, keep in mind I’m talking about people we chose to be our leaders. We voted for these folks because they convinced us they could go to Washington and truly represent our interests.   [click to continue…]

The Migration Mess of Our Own Making

by Diane Dimond on June 30, 2014

U.S. Satellites See What's Happening on Earth

U.S. Satellites See What’s Happening on Earth

Global Positioning Satellite systems can pinpoint our location no matter where we are in the world and precisely tell us where to turn to get to our destination. U.S. satellites monitor just about anything on earth — from the path of a forest fire to the route of a convoy of trucks. We know for a fact that the National Security Agency has had eyes and ears on just about every phone call and e-mail sent or received, worldwide.

So can someone please explain to me how we apparently missed the substantial exodus of migrants from Central America headed for our southern border? By all reports this mass migration — which has now resulted in a major humanitarian crisis – began last October. Yet the public is only just hearing about it now, after it has reached catastrophic proportions. [click to continue…]
